DNPA Code of Ethics for Ladki Bahini Yojana
PURPOSE
Company associates of ladkibahiniyojana.com will maintain the highest ethical standards in the conduct of Company affairs. The intent of this policy is that each associate will conduct the Company’s business with integrity and comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.
The following is a summary of the Company’s policy with respect to:
- Gifts, favors, entertainment, and payments given or received by Company associates,
- Potential conflicts of interest, and
- Certain other matters.
GENERAL POLICY APPLICATION
Gifts, Favors, and Payments by the Company:
Gifts, favors, and payments may be given to others at Company expense if they meet all the following criteria:
- They are consistent with accepted business practices.
- They are of sufficiently limited value and in a form that will not be construed as a bribe or payoff.
- They are not in violation of applicable law and generally accepted ethical standards.
- Public disclosure of the facts will not embarrass the Company.
Payments, commissions, or other compensation to or for the benefit of associates of customers (or their family members or associates) not required by written contract are contrary to Company policy.
Gifts, Favors, Entertainment, and Payments Received by Company Associates:
- Associates shall not seek or accept for themselves or others any gifts, favors, entertainment, or payments without a legitimate business purpose. They shall not seek or accept personal loans (other than conventional loans at market rates from lending institutions) from any persons or organizations that do or seek to do business with, or are competitors of, the Company. Permitted courtesies include:
- Lunch or dinner with vendors, sometimes including spouses, if the invitation is extended by the vendor.
- Gifts of small value such as calendars, pens, pads, or other customary items.
- Tickets to events (sports, arts, etc.) if offered by the vendor and the vendor accompanies the associate. Prior approval from the appropriate company officer is required.
- Overnight outings are acceptable if individuals from the vendor or other companies are present, with prior approval.
- Alcoholic beverages are discouraged.
- Perishable holiday gifts such as cookies, hams, or nuts are acceptable.
- Day outings like golf, fishing, or hunting require prior approval; family participation is not allowed.
- Use of vendor facilities for personal purposes is prohibited unless the vendor is present; limited to once per year and for a short duration.
- Cash or cash equivalents (stocks, securities) are never permissible.
- Management associates should not accept gifts from subordinates exceeding limited value.
CONFLICTS OF INTEREST
Associates should avoid situations where personal interests conflict with those of the Company. Associates dealing with customers, suppliers, contractors, competitors, or any business contacts are expected to act in the best interest of the Company. Any potential conflict must be promptly disclosed in writing to the manager.
Examples of conflicts include:
- Ownership by associates or family members in outside enterprises doing or seeking to do business with the Company.
- Serving as a director, officer, partner, consultant, or in a managerial or technical capacity with outside enterprises doing business with or competing against the Company. Exceptions require CEO approval.
- Acting as a broker, finder, or intermediary for the benefit of a third party in transactions involving the Company.
- Any arrangement or relationship that may prevent associates from acting in the Company’s best interest.
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
The unauthorized use or disclosure of confidential product information, business plans, decisions, or personnel data is prohibited. Misuse or mishandling of confidential information may lead to disciplinary action, up to and including immediate discharge.
COMPLIANCE
Violation of this policy may result in administrative or disciplinary action, including immediate discharge. Associates aware of violations must promptly report them to the appropriate management level. Each vice president or officer is responsible for compliance in their area. Questions regarding this policy should be directed to the corporate Vice President of Human Resources.
SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES
Introduction: Social media is a powerful tool; use it responsibly.
Key Guidelines:
- Use good judgment: Remember almost nothing is truly private online.
- Understand social media: Includes blogs, social networks, chat rooms, and other online platforms.
- Know Company policies: Follow all policies in the Employee Handbook. Discriminatory, harassing, or threatening content will not be tolerated.
- Be careful what you post: You are personally responsible for all content. Errors or misleading content may have lasting effects.
- Speak for yourself, not the Company: Clearly state your personal views and disclaim Company representation when necessary.
- Be respectful and professional: Avoid malicious, obscene, or threatening content. Respect others’ privacy and maintain professional conduct.
- Be honest and accurate: Correct mistakes quickly and clearly indicate any changes.
- Respect laws and confidentiality: Follow copyright, privacy, and other legal rules. Do not disclose confidential Company information.
- Report concerns: Report any policy violations to Human Resources. Retaliation is prohibited.
FAIRNESS
Reporters must provide balanced reporting, allowing all parties subject to criticism an opportunity to respond. Accusations should be conveyed accurately, with a full opportunity for response.
